WELCOME

Thanks for visiting my website. I created this space to share my interests in civil engineering, accessibility, and transportation, and the projects I’ve been working on that connect these ideas.

Many of my projects focus on how technology and infrastructure can make travel and public spaces more accessible for people who are blind or visually impaired.

If you’re curious about my story, I’d love to invite you to explore the projects I’ve worked on and some of my ideas for making community spaces more accessible.

Meet
Kezra Hensley

Hi, I’m Kezra!  A high school senior who is legally blind due to cataracts at birth. Since I won’t be able to drive, I’m deeply excited about the future of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and what they could mean for people like me, giving us the independence and access others take for granted.

I’m passionate about accessibility and inclusion, and I want to help ensure that AVs are designed with people with disabilities in mind from the very beginning.

I’ve been working on projects to make travel easier for people who are visually impaired. I’ve given feedback on an autonomous vehicle travel app, consulted on accessibility features for other apps, and done internships where I’ve learned about artificial intelligence, tech and leadership. I’m also building my coding skills and exploring ways to make aquariums, and other everyday community spaces more accessible. It’s been really exciting to see how my ideas can help and make spaces more accessible for everyone.

Why I Care about AV Accessibility

Autonomous vehicles are more than just innovation, for someone like me, they’re opportunity, freedom. For the blind and visually impaired community, AVs could transform how we live, work, and connect. But only if the user experience is truly inclusive.

As someone who lives with a visual impairment every day, I bring a unique and personal perspective to this space.
